CHENEY'S SWEET & SADISTIC WANDERING BLOODLUST

I believe that torture is an extreme measure of interrogation created for purpose of intimidation and/or retrieving information by means of extreme physical or psychological action.

It is because of that I have a hard time figuring what it is that folks like Cheney are defending. Extreme or rather, enhanced interrogation is not reliable, it is against treaties we have signed, it goes against the idea of being anything other then a bully, which will eventually fail. Leadership gains by superiority, which often is not extreme. I am beginning to wonder if Cheney has a secret that is close to being found out, and that is why he is causing all this trouble. Kind of like disinformation, a deflection of sorts.

Something like waiting six months before letting congress know about enhanced interrogation and blowing smoke up the dem's ass in the mean time! I think that's not so good.

The S.E.R.E. program by the way is a specialized school designed to open the eyes of a small group of soldiers to the types of interrogation they would be subject to. They water board there. They also do worse there. It is for a specific reason, it is used as a model of preparation for potential capture by an enemy. They are indeed tortured there. They also sign disclaimers. It is very different.

Torture is unnecessary. We can get what we want because we do not torture. That doesn't mean being soft. It means being responsible and accountable for the actions of our country. It means you can demoralize an enemy by defeating him on the field.
It means you win the fight, but do not deny how you won. If you go too far, then admit it. It is understandable, and most likely will be forgiven, but do not lie about it. Do not try and distort what it really is. Do not mask the truth about war.

We signed a series of documents defining how we would act in the course of military action. It doesn't matter if they did. We are not them. We as a nation, decided we were better then barbarism. Torture is an act of barbarism. Torture intimidates, and enrages. That is the only guarantee about it.
