ARE WE THE WORLD?

I guess what I think about most is the imbalance of wealth and self worth going on. What I mean by that is what some may call liberal pinko commie jargon. I don't think so. I think that we first need to lead in taking care of our country, properly, then take the lead in helping others in a voluntary, and non violent way.

-The South east, on the gulf coast line is still a mess. It was forgotten about.
-Needing a traveling hospital, usually reserved for 3rd world countries, in Los Angeles for five days, and leaving without completing their commitment.
-Parts of Chicago, Detroit, Compton, Newark N.J., the South Bronx, Bushwick, all falling apart and neglected for decades. We can do better.

We need to look at the interior of our country, presently damaged by corruption, greed, and neglect, and ask how long is the fall into the Ghetto? My answer is always, it's too short.

We need to evaluate where we can do better to secure a line in the sand. A line where NO American citizen will fall below. We need it for health, and education. Give everyone a sense of self by taking care of the people, and in turn, the country. To me, that is patriotism. It isn't difficult either. Get young people to choose two years of civil service by 21, or military service by 30. It would help by giving the young a sense of civic responsibility, and fill the holes in some social programs. If that doesn't work, then rip apart congress, and the senate, and the money you save there, invest it in the country. Term limits. Health reform in the houses. Salary caps. Kill some lobbyists. Attack special interests. That's a start.

It is time to move ahead with a sense of purpose. To move toward improving this country in a grass roots way. Be responsible for more then what's behind your property line. Get involved and help your community. Broaden your scope of what your responsible for. Don't waste time asking what to do. FInd something significant for yourself, that makes you stronger somehow, and act. Demonstrate civility in a way that doesn't need recognition, only continuation. Like the guy who learned to fish, if you plant a tree today, it could bare fruit for generations.

Think about what you like about yourself, and share it.
